ACCOMMODATION AND TRAVELLING  INFORMATION

The Organizers of LABAT’2008 have arranged special room rates at Grand Hotel VARNA as well as at a couple of selected 4 and 3-star hotels located nearby (some 10 min walk) for the period 8-14 June 2008. The preferential rates in EUR per room per night (including breakfast, swimming pool and insurance) are as follows:

	The Organizing Committee will highly appreciate receiving your Registration Form with completed Accommodation section before 30 April 2008. A deposit for the first night is requested to guarantee hotel reservation.
You are kindly asked to send the total payment for accommodation, or at least the required deposit, with the Registration Form. The accommodation costs shall be paid to the Organizing Committee by check or bank transfer in advance, or on registration at the conference Registration Desk by credit cards (VISA, AMEX, EUROCARD, DINERS CLUB) plus 5% commission or in cash.

TRAVELLING  INFORMATION

Varna can be reached from major European cities by plane.

1. Direct flights to Varna. There are a number of direct regular or charter  flights to Varna from major  cities  in Europe. Please contact your travel agent for more information about these flights.
2. Via Sofia. The Bulgarian airline company Bulgaria Air offers 2 flights daily  between Sofia and Varna, When making your travelling itinerary and the respective reservations, make sure that the flights Sofia-Varna and Varna-Sofia are also included. Your travel agent should make a reservation for you through the reservation systems Amadeus or Galileo, or contact directly Bulgaria Air

for booking the internal flights. Mind that at the beginning of the active tourist season this is a rather busy line, so you better book a seat well in advance.
A deluxe bus connection Sofia-Varna is also available, but the trip takes about 5-6 hours. If you need assistance with your travel arrangements for the route Sofia-Varna, please contact the Secretariat in due time and we will try to help you. Please, complete the enclosed Travelling Information Form and send it back to us when you have finalized your itinerary.
The resort of St.St. Constantin and Elena, the venue of LABAT’2008, can be reached from Varna airport by bus or taxi. To assist your transportation to the resort, special LABAT’2008 bureaus will be organized at the airports in Sofia and Varna. Please look for our representatives and they will help you.
Sofia is an interesting town with ancient history and a lot of historical and cultural monuments. You may choose to spend a day or two in Sofia before or after the Conference and to visit our institute (IEES). In this case, do not forget to state this explicitly in the respective section of the Registration Form so that we could make a hotel reservation for you, if you wish.

The WEATHER

The weather in Bulgaria is usually warm and pleasant in mid-June. The average daily temperature is about 22^oC.

INSURANCE

Conference participants are advised to make their own insurance arrangements. The Organizers can in no way be held responsible for accidents to Conference delegates nor for loss of or damage to their personal property howsoever caused.

VISA

ulgarian authorities require entry visas from nationals of some countries. Delegates should check with their travel adviser and the local Bulgarian Consulate regarding their particular case. Please contact the LABAT’2008 Secretariat if you require a special invitation letter.
